Description: A night owl, growing up in this neighborhood, these lights provide me a sense of familiarity, nostalgia and comfort. As I observe the shadows morph under the warmth of sodium vapor lamps turned LEDs, I reminisce the countless bike rides, runs and strolls I have found myself observing, chasing and pouncing on my own shadow(s) as I pass between streets and lights. The tall narrow form, proxying me, explores its shadow under the lamp that has faithfully lit the road immediately outside my house all my life. The second, the first neighborhood junction that was converted to LEDs – a commendable attempt to recreate daylight. Each snapshot has been paired with an internal black and white view down the length of the Styrofoam form with the same camera parameters, warping the perception of scale, immersing the viewer into a smaller world lit by an artificial sun.
